How come when someone goes to a hospital they always complain about how bad the food is? Why is it that the hospital food has to be so bad? Why do we pay so much into the health care system and get horrible food from hospitals? I think it is crazy to not have decent foods at hospitals. Usually the health care system is substandard as it is and yet at least can’t we get something back? maybe at least the food taste like food? My mother in law is in the hospital and yet she can’t get a decent meal. It is weird that doctors get paid so much money to give horrible diagnosises and give little, can’t we hope to at least have a little something in return? Is it hard to ask for something simple like a good meal?

It’s nice having a new car. Everything works on a new car. All the lights light up, all the gages work. The brakes are good, the ignition is good. I don’t have to pay for gas as often as I used to. I love it. I can listen to my favorite tunes at work, or on a cd. I don’t have to be worried that the car might stall out and die. I don’t have to worry about bad air bags or bad other things. Everything works just like it is supposed to. All the stuff in the engine compartment is clean. All the tires are clean, the treads not worn. Having a new car just simply rocks. I am glad to know that I have such a great piece of engineering know how. I can drive to work and not be afraid that I might have to take the bus home. Yippee for me.

I am really upset these days. Are people that bored where they really have to learn how to hack so they can steal money that way, or are they just lazy. Why is it that with the rise of the internet you face newer crimes and scams. If it isn’t about theft it is usually about screwing around with someone elses computer which really upsets me. I just want to surf the net and for the most part enjoy a simple bit of conversation, if I am not here griping, I have to face some jerk making my computer spit flames and spew smoke. I think computer crimes should at least bare a life sentence in prison if not something more severe. It is such a pain to have to buy software to debug a computer that is messed up because of an email attachment I don’t even have to open any more. If I was any more paranoid I would say that the guys putting out the viruses are probably software engineers looking to give reason to their stupid coding. But that is just me being bitter because I simply hate having to buy a computer and find out that the day I open the box the unit is already pretty much obsolete. Oh well maybe that is just me.

Why is it that loop holes exist? How come I have to fear buying something or using a service because of “the fine print”. Why can’t I just have what I paid for with out any strings? I look at a commercial for a car and at the bottom is all this tiny lettering basically saying they will eventually screw you but since they put that tiny lettering it’s ok because according to the law they told you what they needed to. Why do we have to deal with companies telling us about rebates or special discounts when they also tell us that some restrictions may apply? When they say that I know they are going to rip us off too by stating what isn’t included, which is usually lots of stuff that they sell. You go to a restaurant and they serve you something that doesn’t look at all like the picture, but because there is something on the sign in 7 point font that says the same you are stuck with dealing with the issue. Why is it that people can’t give you what you paid for. they have to always try to get over on you. Hmm are we really that morally bankrupt a society?

In these times of technology sometimes when you have a problem all you need is a little persuasion to fix things. I found out today that one of the first things to do with a heater malfunction is to give it a lil rap on the side of the unit. In terms of a game unit I have sometimes when it gets stuck a gentle tap on a table or wall or some such fixes it. It is crazy that sometimes the most involved things just require a little bit of bruit force to fix the problem. If a lock is stuck just give it a little whack. If a closet door won’t close like it is supposed to give the base of it a gentle kick. if you don’t have enough extension cord tug on it a lil, as long as the plug stays in the outlet, even if the power strip is in the air a little bit you still have contact. Who ever said that you have to be gentle with things didn’t live in a day and age where the stuff we buy is usually of substandard quality anyway. It just takes a lil bit of persuasion to fix anything. A little force can go a long way.

I know you have to do it, but it is hard at times. I hate saying no to my four year old. The word no is so troublesome for me. I never had to deal with no when I was growing up. I never had to not get what I wanted. I was not spoiled however. I turned out to be a decent person, at least from my point of view. I look into my little girls eyes and it hurts when I have to say no to her about something. I know it’s for her own good but it just is terrible to have to say the word. Having children makes you want to give them everything you possibly can. It makes you want to put them first no matter what the situation is. She is a cute lil girl and when she says to me can I have this daddy, I want to be able to always say yes to her. Of course I guess, which most people would comment to this fact that there have to be limits. That the word no is in her best interest to learn. I still however, hate saying such a thing.

Don’t people have a sense of honor or responsibility anymore? Why do I have to come home from a busy day out and find out that my parking space, which is numbered and reserved for my car, and find out that someone else is there where I should be. Why do I have to wait for someone to finally come out and move their car. I guess the world is full of rude people who don’t care about one and another these days. Why is it that some people would spit on you rather than look at you? I find myself so frustrated with the way things have become. When I park in my space at the end of the day I make sure my car doesn’t excede the area I am allowed. I make sure that I am not blocking anyone or in anyone else’s spot. I place myself inside my 4 foot box knowing that someone else will have to park next to me in their own spot. I don’t think it would kill anyone to exibit a lil common courtesy. I don’t think it would kill someone to think of someone other than themselves for a change. For once I would like to be able to say that I am not the only one who cares.

It is amazing how expensive it can be to own a car these days. You have to pay through the nose to get gas because the Oil barons jack up the prices. You have to pay tons of dollars because the auto mechanics jack up their prices. You have to pay higher insurance premiums because of the popularity of fraud in the system makes the insurance companies nervous. I can’t seem to get a break. Either something breaks on the car, or something seems like it’s not working like it should. Why would Ford make these things so easy and affordable when all they are is a bucket of trouble. I don’t think that I have had one day since I got this car, as used as it was, from my father that I haven’t had some sort of problem with it. The gremlins inside cars should be shot. Why does something so essential have to be so expensive, greed can’t go that far can it? Are we really reduced to dollars and cents?

I think what one person constitutes as family is different than what I perceive as family. I think family is defined more than just by blood alone. Family to me is more about the relationships that we build than who our natural born family is. I have gotten along better with my extended family more than some of my family members. My little girl’s paternal grandparents are just as good family as any other. I think of them as a second set of in laws because they treated me just as good as if I was their son in law and not some stranger that married their grand daughters mother. I feel welcome with them and they aren’t even related to me, or even tied to me other than through my daughter. Family can not be quanitified just by the people who share our genes. I think it’s more than just that. It has to do with how we relate to people. The word relatives also has the word relate in it which means how we deal with people. When I think of rosie’s grandparents I do not think about the fact that they aren’t a direct member of my family. what I think about is how there is a connection in a different form. I think of how they are good and kind people that had enough room in their hearts for one more. Characteristics that make people family are not defined by the people we are born from alone but the people we grow up with. I feel special knowing I have so many others to support me if I need help, to pick me up if I am down, to offer sage advice and council. John, Nancy you two are the best and I wish you never to change.

Politics is a bunch of garbage if you ask me. The politicians make believe that we have a say in our government. As they say the more things change, the more they stay the same. No matter what party ends up in power they all just want to keep their power. If 100,000 people vote against someone and a 100,001 vote for someone then the electoral votes make up the results, Why can’t elections be determined by popular vote? Why do we have to leave the decision up to the size of a state. If California has a certain amount of electoral votes, and texas has a certain other number why can’t it be based on population instead. Why does it seem that we can’t directly pick our leaders? I never understand how voting can be so pointless. but a lot of people say you have to speak your mind. However, if your vote only counts towards the number of electoral votes a politician gets, what is the point in calling it a vote or saying what it is that you are trying to achieve. oh well.
